MISSION
At SPCC, we're committed to nurturing a thriving competitive cycling community. Our racing team, inclusive of both men and women, excels in popular disciplines like road, gravel, and MTB. Beyond seasoned athletes, we passionately support young racers, providing financial aid, mentorship, and club assistance for their holistic development. We're dedicated to enriching the cycling experience by bolstering ride leadership, attendance, and supporting during club rides. Witnessing our peers excel at elite levels inspires camaraderie and excitement among members. Through education, we equip our community with racing knowledge, promoting strategy, etiquette, safety, and race selection.
REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the SPCC Race Team, applicants must hold a current Category 1 or 2 USA Cycling license, with Category 1 required for mountain biking, and list "Stay Park City Cycling" as their registered team. They should embody a positive, team-oriented attitude, wear team gear during races and organized club rides, and compete in the "open/pro" category. Additionally, members must participate in at least three of SPCC's designated "Targeted A races" per season and attend a minimum of one club ride per week between May and September. Attendance at four club parties or special events per calendar year is also required, fostering community bonds beyond racing.

John Allison
Gravel, Road and Mountain Bike Racer
John has been an active volunteer and ride leader for SPCC for about 7 years now and really enjoys what the club is all about - having fun, riding hard, and not taking ourselves too seriously. This season he is looking forward to racing his Ventum GS1 gravel bike a bit more than last year, riding our very popular group rides, and checking out gravel roads and mountain biking routes that he hasn’t not done before.

Jason Linder
Gravel, Mountain, and Road Racer
Despite losing a pedal stroke or two to the young bucks, and just maybe bit of hair in the process, Jason, the club founder, still enjoys racing and finding new adventures. A few of Jason's accomplishments include 10x Leadville 100 finisher (sub 8 hours), 2x winner of Breck Epic stage race (age group), and completing an Everesting Attempt (42 labs up the Bear Hollow climb).

Chelsea Bolton

Chelsea currently serves as SPCC’s Director of Operations (feel free to email her with any club questions you have!) and also enjoys riding trails on her mountain and gravel bikes. She is looking forward to a good mix of gravel and mountain bike races this year, as well as meeting all the dogs of Park City!

Flavia Oliveira Parks
Gravel, Road Racer, Olympian
Flavia was born in Rio de Janeiro Brazil and moved to the US when she was 16. She grew up always wanting to be an Olympian, getting her start in swimming, and then went to play soccer, compete in triathlons, and in 2005, she met Dr. Testa. Dr. Testa convinced her to focus on biking, and she saw immediate success, thanking him for pointing her in the right direction! She achieved her childhood dream of being an Olympian in her hometown and country of Brazil in the 2016 Rio Olympics! She loves spending her summers in Park City staying Mike McGurl and his wife, Robin!

Marc Spratt
Gravel and Mountain Bike Racer
Marc is 29 years old and has been riding bikes for about 6 years. He got his start in triathlons and transitioned to cycling his junior year of college. He is originally from Indiana, but now lives and trains in Salt Lake City with his twin brother Nathan. He will be racing a lot of the LifeTime Grand Prix events as it is his goal to be selected for the series next year. Marc works as an engineer at a supplement company. He also enjoys cooking/baking and working on his cars and bikes.

Not only is Nathan in the 2024 LifeTime Grand Prix, but he also has a day job working as an R&D engineer for a supplement company! But his true passion is training and racing on the off-road scene here in the US. His nerdy love of tech and science always has him testing bike equipment to find more speed!

Michael is a graduate student in atmospheric science at the University of Utah, studying winter storms in the Wasatch. When not studying, he spends as much time as possible cycling in the summer and skiing in the winter. His favorite types of rides are big, adventurous days in the mountains. He is excited to tackle some big road and gravel races this summer! -

Lindsay Cone
Endurance and Enduro Racer
Lindsay has a background in competitive ski racing, spending several years traveling around the world representing the US at an elite level. Now, she enjoys bike racing as a way to push the limits physically, maintain health and fitness goals, and establish awesome relationships and connections in the cycling community! She focuses mostly on endurance races but also races enduro.

Ian is still “looking for the spirit of gravel” as he pursues his love of all cycling disciplines! He has competed in many of the country’s best gravel races, including the infamous Unbound, and the BWR series. In the winter, he often spends his time skiing some epic adventures all over Utah!

Dylan is a 17-year-old at Park City High School. He started riding and racing mountain bikes three years ago and fell in love with it, and he is adding road racing into his schedule this year! He is super excited to race for SPCC again this year and looks forward to meeting people at the weekly Sunday rides!
